Laurinda Stockwell was using one of our oldest templates, which was not mobile-friendly and didn’t show off her intriguing work as well as it could have. Her work is so immediate and strong that it didn’t require too many bells and whistles, but I wanted a color that complemented it rather than detracted from it. Her work deals with a lot of natural subjects and features a lot of greens and blues, so I ended up with this sort of burlap-and-linen combination that I hope is elegant without calling too much attention to itself. I chose one of our newer fonts for the name of her site, and made it much bigger. I also added a home page to her site, choosing an image that seems to invite the viewer into the site.
I deactivated a few pages that had no content, but she can easily activate them again at any point.
I changed the look of her gallery page to make the thumbnail images more even, and I added the gallery title text over the images.
I also made a few behind-the-scenes changes. I activated sharing buttons for her site so people can share her work on Facebook, Pinterest and Elsewhere.
